Update prices

You create a new version of existing products with a new name and new prices. The old product is kept.

In short: For each existing product, you give the new name and the new prices. vynst creates a new version. The old product remains.

What you need this for

When a fee increases, you do not want to overwrite the old product, because existing memberships and subscriptions would then continue with it. Instead, this import creates a new version. Memberships and subscriptions are not switched automatically. You do that afterwards with Change membership product.

Before you start

  • Rights: You need the role Administrator with write access for products.
  • Imported beforehand: The existing products must exist in vynst.
  • Backup: The import cannot be undone at the click of a button. Before you start, export the products under Settings → Export (Einstellungen → Export).

Prepare the file

  • File name: The file must contain .csv and must not contain AFS_PRODUCT_.
  • Header row: The columns begin with PRODUCT_IDENTIFIER and PRODUCT_NAME. Directly after them, NEW_PRODUCT_NAME, NEW_FIXED_PRICE and NEW_BUYING_PRICE must follow side by side, in exactly this order.
  • Separator: Comma or semicolon. Use the same character throughout the file.
  • Prices: The point is the default, so 13.00. For commas, use the column PRICE_FORMAT with the value de. This column must be named exactly like this.

Columns

The import uses only these column names. vynst does not recognise any other spelling.

The products keep their name, because MODIFIED_PRODUCT_NAME matches the previous name here. If the existing product is to get a new name, for example Erwachsene (bis 2026), enter it in this column.

How to proceed

  1. Open Settings → Import (Einstellungen → Import).
  2. Click Add (Hinzufügen) and select the file.
  3. Wait until the entry in the list is green.
  4. Read the log. Every row with Error: was not taken over.
  5. To switch over: export the template for the product change. It contains products with a new version. Add the date and import the file under Change membership product.

Good to know

  • Each row creates a new version. Uploading the same file twice therefore creates duplicate new versions. Upload it only once.
  • The old product remains and keeps a reference to the new version. This connection is used by the template for the product change.
  • The new version takes over the other settings of the old product, for example billing type and interval.
  • Existing subscriptions and memberships are not switched by this import.
