Locations

Create or update locations such as halls, schools or club houses, with address and contact details.

Format
CSV (semicolon or comma)
Access rights
Write access to events
Example files
Orte_beispiel_technisch.csv (technical column names)
Orte_beispiel_anwender.csv (German column names)

In short: You enter each location with its own number in a table. vynst creates or updates the locations based on this number.

What you need this for

Locations are the buildings or facilities where offers take place, for example sports halls, schools or the club house. You later assign rooms and offers to a location. That is why you import the locations first.

Before you start

  • You need the right Imports (menu item Import) and write access for events (Schreibrecht Veranstaltungen).
  • An administrator right is not required for this import.
  • You will also need the location numbers later for the rooms and offers. Use the same number everywhere.

Prepare the file

  • Format: CSV with semicolon ; or comma , as separator. Excel files also work; each sheet is then treated as a separate file.
  • Header row: The first row contains the column names. The first two columns are Standort-ID and Standortname (or LOCATION_IDENTIFIER and LOCATION_NAME), in this order.
  • File name: It must contain .csv. Names such as Orte_Verein.csv work well.

Example files: Orte_beispiel_technisch.csv with the technical column names, Orte_beispiel_anwender.csv with the German column names.

The three rows create the locations HALLE1, VEREIN and SCHULE. The file with the German column names contains the same rows. The sports hall HALLE1 is used in the example for rooms and offers.

How to proceed

  1. Open Settings → Import (Einstellungen → Import).
  2. Click Add (Hinzufügen) and select the file.
  3. After the run, check the log to see whether rows with Error: were skipped.

Good to know

  • If the location ID already exists, the location is updated. A new number creates a new location.
  • If a column is missing from the file, its value remains unchanged for the location. If the column is present but a text cell is empty (for example phone or description), the old text is deleted. For the columns Sparte and VISIBILITY_ACCESS_TAGS, the existing column replaces the previous values, even if the cell is empty.
  • Use letters and numbers for the location ID where possible, for example HALLE1. A pure number is first looked up by vynst as an internal number. In doing so, a different location may be hit.
  • vynst compares the address with a geo service. If the service finds a match, vynst takes over its spelling and coordinates. Otherwise, the address from the file applies.
  • Rows without a location ID or without a location name are skipped and listed in the log with their values.
