Bank statement CAMT (XML)

You import bank statements in CAMT (XML) format from your online banking.

Format
XML (CAMT.052, CAMT.053 or CAMT.054), UTF-8
Access rights
Administrator, write access to payments
Example file
camt_beispiel.xml (download)

In short: Upload the bank statement as an XML file from your online banking without changing it. vynst takes over the booked transactions and then assigns them to invoices, direct debits and accounts.

What you need this for

Bank statements from online banking should arrive in vynst so that payments do not have to be entered by hand.

Before you start

  • Rights: Administrator with write access for payments.
  • Payment profile: If your account has a payment profile in vynst, vynst finds it via the own IBAN in the statement. If there are several, vynst takes the one whose name appears in the file name. Otherwise, the first one.

Prepare the file

  • Change nothing: Upload the file as the bank provides it.
  • File name: The name must contain .xml. If it starts with camt_, vynst recognises the file reliably.
  • Format: CAMT.052, CAMT.053 or CAMT.054 in ISO 20022 format.

What is taken over

Information Where in vynst
Amount and currency Amount of the booking
Booking date Date of the booking
Name from the payment reference, otherwise the name of the counterparty Name of the booking
IBAN and name of the counterparty Bank details of the booking
Mandate reference Bank details of the booking
End-to-end reference Identifier for duplicate checking
Status, value date, fees, collective reference Additional data

Only booked transactions are taken over. Other bookings appear in the log under SKIPPED ENTRY.

How to proceed

  1. Download the bank statement as XML from online banking.
  2. Billing → Bank imports → Add (Abrechnung → Bank-Importe → Hinzufügen), select the file.
  3. The file appears in the list. Check the log.
  4. The assignment then runs in the background.

Good to know

  • vynst recognises bookings that have already been imported and skips them. Overlapping periods are therefore not a problem.
  • Each file creates a new group in the list of bank imports. Even if all bookings are duplicates, the empty group remains.
  • Fees appear in the additional data of the booking. Return debit information appears only in the log.

When something does not work

Message in the log Meaning What to do
Error: skipped duplicate The booking already exists. Below it appears duplicate id: <ID>. Nothing to do.
SKIPPED ENTRY A booking with a status other than booked was not taken over. The details follow. Check whether it is an expected booking.
Own IBAN: <IBAN> The own IBAN from the statement. For checking only. Is the IBAN correct?
Read: N statements Number of bank statements in the file, not of bookings. Nothing to do.
FAILED: User missing rights to import. The right for payments is missing. Ask an administrator.
FAILED: No matching processor found. The file is not recognised as CAMT. Check the file name and format.
