In short: You enter each room or object with its own number in a table. vynst creates or updates them based on this number.

What you need this for

Rooms and objects are the places within a location where offers take place or which can be booked, for example course rooms, gymnastics rooms or a club bus. You later link offers to a room.

Before you start

• You need the right Imports (menu item Import) and write access for events (Schreibrecht Veranstaltungen).
• You should have created the locations beforehand via the import Locations (Orte). Then enter the location ID from that table in the column LOCATION_IDENTIFIER.
• An administrator right is not required for this import.

Prepare the file

• Format: CSV with semicolon ; or comma , as separator.
• Header row: The first column is OBJECT_IDENTIFIER (or Raumnummer), the second OBJECT_NAME (or Name).
• File name: It must contain .csv and begin with Räume or BOOKABLE_, for example Räume_Halle.csv. Alternatively the header row begins with OBJECT_IDENTIFIER;OBJECT_NAME.

The rooms R1 and R2 are at the location HALLE1 from the locations example. The room R1 is a hall with 40 seats and is accessible. The club bus BUS1 belongs to the location VEREIN. The room types gym, room and vehicle are fixed identifiers of vynst.

How to proceed

1. Open Settings → Import (Einstellungen → Import).
2. Click Add (Hinzufügen) and select the file.
3. Check the log for Error: lines.

Good to know

• If the room number already exists, the room is updated. A new number creates a new room.
• If a column is missing from the file, its value remains unchanged. If the column is present but a text cell is empty, the old text is deleted. For numbers as well as ja and nein, the old value remains if the cell is empty. For new rooms, an empty yes/no cell counts as nein.
• If the location ID is unknown, the room has no location afterwards. There is no message in the log for this. Therefore, check the location IDs.
• The location ID LOCATION_IDENTIFIER is optional. If the cell is empty, the existing location remains unchanged.
• Use letters and numbers for the room number where possible, for example R1. A pure number is first looked up by vynst as an internal number.
