Errors
Understand and handle the error codes of the vynst (inwendo ERP) REST API.
Errors come with a matching HTTP status and two extra headers:
| Header | Content |
|---|---|
X-IW-ERROR-CODE |
internal error code, for example 1305 |
X-IW-ERROR-JSON |
details as JSON, such as the fields of an invalid form |
The HTTP status says what went wrong in general. The internal code says why.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
400 |
invalid request, for example a required field is missing |
401 |
not signed in or token expired |
403 |
signed in, but a right is missing |
404 |
entry not found |
409 |
entry was changed in the meantime |
500 |
server error |
Common internal codes:
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
1100 |
maintenance mode |
1300, 1301 |
invalid form, details in X-IW-ERROR-JSON |
1302 |
invalid email address |
1305 |
entry already exists |
1400 |
password too weak |
If a feature is switched off in the settings of the instance, its endpoints answer 400 with the text feature disabled: <id>.
